I work at a drive-thru convenience store owned by a man who obtained his stores by buying out the company I used to work for. Coincidentally, I still work at the same place, but the new owner is changing it from a more basic set-up into, essentially, a drive-thru 7-11.
We have a lawn that we actually hire people to take care of, so during the summer, the grass is always green except for what is probably a permanent patch of dirt where one of my co-workers empties out the coffee at the day’s end. He’s such an ass. Just beyond our two-rail post fence, there’s a decently sized tree with leaves you can tell are well hydrated and healthy, for whatever reason as it’s just a tree out in public.
Staring at that tree, I thought of something odd and I don’t know why:
God is an omnipotent, omniscient, and omni-benevolent being of sorts.
God created man in his image.
Man is plagued with problems.
Therefore, God is plagued with problems.
How is it possible to be an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-benevolent being of sorts (the likes of which cannot be proven to exist) and still be plagued with the problems of beings that can be proven to exist (that’s us) and are not all-knowing, all-powerful, or all-benevolent?
Sure, there’s original sin, but if God cannot be tempted, how could man be tempted?
